Investigators with the Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office arrested Floyd McKinley Banks, 70, of 214 Jones Circle, Chocowinity, for the sale of a schedule II controlled substance — morphine — said a press release from the sheriff’s office.

“We’d been getting information about (Banks) for about six months,” said the drug unit’s spokesman.

The press release said that investigators made a controlled purchase of the drug from Banks. Banks was charged with possession with intent to sell and for maintaining a dwelling to facilitate drug activity.

Banks was on probation for other drug-related charges, said the spokesman.
