Sound Off highlights anonymous, brief takes on the news offered via telephone by Daily News readers.

Neighbors who mow their grass on Sunday have no respect for their neighbors.

It never fails after a tragedy such as the one that happened in Aurora, Colo., that the liberal media and liberal-minded people of this country call out for new gun laws. Has it dawned on these people that criminals will find a way to have guns? That laws are only written for honest people? I beg to differ with these folks. I think if there had been five or six legally armed people in that movie theater, that the suspect in this shooting would have been dispatched in proper fashion. Guns deter crime. … Law-abiding residents of this city, this county, this state and this country are owed the right to defend themselves from the criminals. If we take all the guns from everyone, the brakes will be off. We will be open to control by evil in all forms, whether it be citizenry or the government. The only thing that stands between us and criminals or dictators is the right to bear arms.

People who mow their grass on Sunday must have to work 6 days per week. If you don’t want your neighbor mowing his/her grass on Sunday….MOW IT FOR THEM ON SATURDAY.
