Vidant Beaufort Hospital has confirmed through an internal investigation that it has not received any of the medication that has been linked to the meningitis outbreak.
“It is important for our patients (especially our pain patients) and the community to know that the injections used at Vidant Health hospitals are purchased from another company,” reads a hospital news release. “In addition, Vidant Health has not diagnosed any patient with Aspergillus meningitis related to this outbreak and the health system is increasing its organizational awareness of the situation and continues to track infection surveillance.”
