The Washington waterfront was the scene of a drug bust Oct. 19, said a press release from the Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office Drug Unit

“We driving down the waterfront and saw them,” said the drug unit’s spokesman. “Basically, it was a surveillance-based operation. When we approached, we saw the drugs in plain view.”

Joshua Tyler Williams, 19, of 207 Clayton Street, Washington, and Jonathan Dean Hudson, 19, of 127 Hillingdale Drive, Washington, were arrested in the parking lot off Water Street. The two were charged with possession with intent to sell and deliver schedule II controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.

A press release said two types of prescription pain medication were seized by investigators: Hydromorphone, a very potent derivative of morphine, and Oxycodone.

Williams and Hudson were confined in Beaufort County Detention Center under a $10,000 bond.
