Tickets for luncheon are going fastPublished 9:30pm Saturday, November 3, 2012
Tickets are on sale for the Washington Women’s Luncheon with guest speaker Celia Rivenbark.
The luncheon is set from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday at the Washington Yacht & Country Club. We are appreciative of Vidant Beaufort Hospital, our presenting sponsor, for partnering with us to bring this event to Washington. Rivenbark’s goal is to make people laugh, and she has been successful at doing just that. Rivenbark is author of several books, including “You Don’t Sweat Much for a Fat Girl,” “You Can’t Drink All Day if You Don’t Start in the Mornin,’” “We Are Just Like You, Only Prettier” and several more. She also writes a weekly column in the News & Observer. Rivenbark has a way of looking at everyday things and seeing the humor in them. So, grab your friends, coworkers, neighbors and family and make plans to be entertained and kick off the holiday season with a treat for yourself. The reason we hold this event is for women to come together and enjoy themselves. We want to encourage you to do just that. Tickets are going fast, so call the chamber today at 252-946-9168 to reserve yours.
The Washington Women’s Luncheon is the chamber’s last event of the year, and I can’t believe we are starting the holiday season. For several years, the chamber has been reminding everyone to Buy Local and support your local businesses. The next two months are crucial to the success of many of our businesses, and we want to encourage you as you start buying for loved ones and friends that you remember how important it is to support those right here in your community. We have our Buy Local gift certificates as well that can be used at many local businesses here in the county. They make great gifts. Start planning now to support your local businesses because they depend on all of us, and we are appreciative they are here.
