Washington High School students in Brenda Most's third-period World History class got to see a Japanese battle flag from World War 2 on Friday. The flag was brought in by Kevin Clancy, the father of Kylee Clancy, a student in the class. Kevin Clancy's great-grandfather, Adm. Harry Hill, was commander of the U.S. task force that assaulted the island of Tarawa during World War II. Hill received the Japanese battle flag captured at the island. The flag was passed down through the family and Kevin Clancy now has it. He plans to donate the flag to the Marine museum in Quantico, V.A.
