The crowd paid rapt attention as 29 people read excerpts from the “I Have a Dream” speech in honor of Martin Luther King Jr. Day. The famous speech, long hailed as one of the best in history, was given on the Mall in Washington, D.C., 50 years ago. Monday night’s ceremony, organized by Southside High School’s student government association, was held on the lawn of Chocowinity Town Hall.
