No. 13-0153, Cindy, is an adorable, Jack Russell Terrier-Dachshund miniature-mix puppy. She is 6 months old with a smooth hair, white and black coat. She has a sweet disposition, is very calm and loves to be held. This little puppy needs lots of love and attention and a good forever home. Meet Seela, No. 13-0102, a silver and white female tabby, about 8 months old. Her exquisite face and silky coat are matched with a gentle and very affectionate personality. Seela loves cuddling, playing, grooming and keeping her surroundings tidy. She asked not to be in a home with dogs, but another cat is fine.

How to adopt
Those interested in adopting a pet should inquire at the Betsy Bailey Nelson Animal Control Facility, 3931 U.S. Highway 264 East, from 1 p.m. until 5:30 p.m. Mondays through Fridays and 11 a.m. until 3 p.m. Saturdays. Because of overcrowded conditions, the animals listed are only available as indicated.

Fix’m in February
February is national spay/neuter month and in Beaufort County three veterinary hospitals (Chocowinity Veterinary Hospital, 252-946-9000, Pamlico Animal Hospital 252-946-2834 and Tar River Animal Hospital 252-946-2417) are having reduced rate spay and neuter procedures for dogs and cats during the whole month. In addition to the reduced rates, the Humane Society of Beaufort County, 252-946-1591, is available to give financial assistance. Veterinary appointments for anytime in February are being taken now.  Appointments are required.
